San Lorenzo Bossman Scores Half-Length Victory in $40,000 Opelousas Stakes at Evangeline Downs
OPELOUSAS, LA–OCTOBER 10, 2026–San Lorenzo Bossman ($3.40) continued his winning ways Saturday night at Evangeline Downs, using his early speed to capture the $40,000 Opelousas Stakes (R) by a half-length over Tm Back to Perry. Rogues Fast Prize finished third in the 400-yard stakes for accredited Louisiana-breds.
Ridden by Leonardo Rodriguez, the 3-year-old bay colt broke sharply from post five and quickly established command, leading by a half-length early before extending his advantage to a full length.
He held off his challengers through the final yards to complete the distance in 20.056 seconds, earning a 91 speed
