Sir Louisiana Dash Prevails In $203,122 Delta Downs Louisiana Bred Derby(RG3)

Under jockey Raul Ramirez, Jr., Sir Louisiana Dash completed the 400 yard task in :19.603 seconds over fast racing surface to equal a 96 speed index. It was the first win for the son of multiple stakes sire Sir Runaway Dash since scoring in the Laddie Futurity(RG2) at Delta on July 4, 2020.
Saddled by trainer Hector Alcala, Sir Louisiana Dash races for owner Rogelio Marquez, Jr. Tate Farms bred the sorrel gelding from the Separatist mare Ms Proverbial. He has compiled an (8) 3-2-2 record and the Delta Derby winners purse, valued at $101,561, boosted his bankroll to $305,881.
Rayne Knight's Black Blood, a son of leading third-crop sire Apollitical Blood, finished half-a-length back to earn $20,313 for third. A finalist in both the Louisiana Million Futurity(RG1) and Laddie Futurity(RG2) last year, Black Blood is trained by Michael Zingelmann and ridden by Juan Garcia, Jr. Bred by Erin Chrisman from the Sweet First Down mare Black Rosalita, Black Blood has earned $113,773.
El Camino Cl, Supa Five Bar, Fireintheblood, Apollitical High, Tdz Rolex Rattler, A Double Corona and Jess Sweet Time completed the field.
