VINTON, LA–APRIL 30, 2023–Hijack A Train, a graded stakes placed son of Freighttrain B racing for Alan Duran, will make his next start in Friday's 330-yard Louisiana Breeders' Laddie Futurity (RG2) for state-bred colts and geldings at Delta Downs.

A $90,000 buy at last year's Louisiana QHBA Yearling Sale, Hijack A Train has earned $40,108 from two races, and he is coming off of a third-place finish, 1 1/2 lengths behind winner San Lorenzo Blood, in the March 25, $365,000 Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) at Louisiana Downs.

Hijack A Train drew post 3 and will be ridden by Nestor Duran for trainer Josue Ponce in the ninth of 12 trials.

Rosendo Valdez's Hell Of A View drew post 5 and will be ridden by Juan F. Garcia Jr. for trainer Fernando Valdez in the sixth heat. A $23,500 yearling purchase, the Five Bar Cartel gelding broke his maiden with a neck victory as the odds-on favorite in a 300-yard, $20,000 open-condition allowance dash for Louisiana-breds at Louisiana Downs on March 25.

The 10 fastest qualifiers from Friday's trials will meet in the $75,000 Louisiana Breeders' Laddie Futurity final on May 27.

There will be a special early post time of 5:25 pm (CDT) on Friday, May 5 to accommodate a 12-race program that features trials for this year's Laddie Futurity. Don't be late!
