Louisiana Breeders’ Lassie Futurity Trials Draw 149 State-Bred Fillies

Delta Downs will host 15 trials for the Louisiana Breeders’ Lassie Futurity (RG2) on Friday night.

VINTON, LA—APRIL 23, 2019—HH Gailforce, a graded stakes-winning daughter of Freighttrain B, is one of 149 state-bred 2-year-old fillies entered in Friday’s 330-yard Louisiana Breeders’ Lassie Futurity (RG2) trials at Delta Downs.

A $12,000 purchase at last year’s Louisiana QHBA Yearling Sale, HH Gailforce is trained by Joel Cantu for the Egoitzzia Partnership. The bay filly has won both of her starts, including the 300-yard, $305,296 Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) at Louisiana Downs, and she has earned $140,984.

HH Gailforce drew post 2 and will be ridden by Luciano Duenez in the fifth of 15 trials.

Down South Racing LLC’s TF Shez Jess Dashin drew post 8 and will be ridden by Everardo Rodriguez in the 12th heat. A gray daughter of Sir Runaway Dash trained by Ned Goutierrez III and a $38,000 buy at last year’s LQHBA Yearling Sale, TF Shez Jess Dashin has banked $55,501 from two outs, and she is coming off of a second-place finish to HH Gailforce in the Mardi Gras Futurity.

To accommodate the large number of trials, first post at Delta Downs on Friday is set for 4:30 p.m. (CDT). The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the May 17, $75,000-added Louisiana Breeders’ Lassie Futurity final.
