Jack Ketel Headlines Delta’s Virgil Bond Stakes

VINTON, LA—MAY 29, 2018—Diamond L Racing’s Jack Ketel, a 6-year-old son of champion Ketel Won, is one of eight distance specialists entered in Friday’s 870-yard, $25,000 Virgil Bond Stakes at Delta Downs.
A $5,000 claim at Retama Park in August 2017, Jack Ketel has since won two of his five starts, including the 870-yard, $25,000 Governor’s Cup Marathon Stakes at Sam Houston Race Park on May 12. The gelding drew post 7 and will be ridden by Donell Blake for trainer Scott Hamilton.
Other contenders include Fernando Ramirez’s JW Who Dat, a two-time 870-yard stakes winner during the Louisiana Downs winter meet. Trained by Eric Palacio, the 6-year-old Agouti gelding has earned $29,200 from four outs this season.
JW Who Dat drew post 4 and will be ridden by Antonio Alberto.
