The Eagle Express Seeks First Stakes Victory in Swift Stakes

BOSSIER CITY, LA—-JANUARY 25, 2015—The Eagle Express, a gray gelded son of champion One Famous Eagle racing for Mary G. Thompson, will make the first start of his 4-year-old campaign in the 350-yard, $15,000 Swift Stakes at Louisiana Downs on Saturday.
The Eagle Express is coming off of a 3-year-old season in which he won three of nine races and earned $49,840 while racing exclusively in Louisiana. Trained by Larry Kopycinski, the gelding ran second, 1 1/4 lengths behind winner Separatist Firstdown, in the 400-yard, $138,000 Firecracker Derby (G3) at Delta Downs.
Lucas Constantin will ride The Eagle Express in the Swift.
Other contenders include Ana Alvidrez’s T Boy G. A 4-year-old son of Sir Runaway Dash trained by Martin Trejo, the gelding will be making his first start since December 20, when he ran third, three-quarters of a length behind winner Cartels Fortune, in the 400-yard, $126,000 Evangeline Downs Derby.
David Alvarez has been named to ride T Boy G on Saturday.
