TF Corona N Passion Returns in Magnolia Stakes, Heza No Bay Heads Maiden Stakes


Coming off a win in the Marathon Stakes, TF Corona N Passion will head a field of eight in Saturday's Magnolia Stakes at Lousiana Downs.

BOSSIER CITY, LA—FEBRUARY 2, 2015—Renato Contreras’ TF Corona N Passion drew post 5 for Saturday’s 870-yard, $25,000 Magnolia Stakes (R) for state-breds at Louisiana Downs.

A 5-year-old gelding by Too Tough To Catch trained by Steven Salazar, TF Corona N Passion is coming off of a wire-to-wire 2 3/4-length victory in the 870-yard, $15,000 Marathon Stakes at Louisiana Downs on January 10. The gelding has won five of his 15 starts, including two of three at this 870 distance.

John Hamilton has been named to ride TF Corona N Passion in the Magnolia Stakes.

Downtown Forrest, the runner-up in the Marathon Stakes, drew post 7 for the Magnolia. Racing for Walter E. Alford from the barn of trainer Carl Crawford, the 6-year-old Beau Brummel SA gelding won three of nine starts last season, including the 870-yard, $60,000 Live Oak Stakes (R) at Delta Downs.

Josh Dearmon has been named to ride Downtown Forrest on Saturday.

Fastest qualifier Heza No Bay will head a full field of 10 in Saturday's Louisiana Downs Maiden Stakes.

Fastest qualifier Heza No Bay will be ridden by Donald Watson from post 6. A sorrel daughter of Heza Fast Dash owned by Michael K. Richard and trained by Kevin Broussard, the filly broke her maiden with a neck victory in the first of three trials on January 17.
