Fastest Qualifier Corona Two Socks Headlines Rich Mardi Gras Futurity

BOSSIER CITY, LA–MARCH 27, 2024–Mark G. Petry's Corona Two Socks, a bay son of Coronas Leaving You and the fastest overall qualifier, is one of 10 state-bred 2-year-olds entered back in Saturday's 300-yard, $458,794 Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) at Louisiana Downs.
A $15,000 purchase at last year's LQHBA Yearling Sale, Corona Two Socks made his career debut with a nose victory in one of 18 Mardi Gras Futurity trials run March 9-10. Preston Jourdan trains the colt.
Corona Two Socks drew post 3 and will be ridden by Victor Urieta Jr.
Jockey Ubaldo Luna qualified three Mardi Gras Futurity qualifiers and will ride Uuzzii in the final. A son of Freighttrain B trained by Adrian Huitron for owner 2 Kings Racing LLC, Uuzzi is coming off of a three-quarter length victory in his trial.
Uuzzii drew post 6.
