A total of 38 3-year-olds, headed by stakes winners B Leaving and Kas Shes EC, are entered in Saturday's 400-yard Evangeline Downs Derby trials at Evangeline Downs.

The 10 fastest qualifiers from Friday's four heats will meet in the December 16, $50,000-added final.

B Leaving is coming off of a second-place finish, one length behind winner Nothin Like You, in the October 22, $158,000 Adequan Derby Challenge Championship (G3) at Horseshoe Indianapolis. Trained by Zackary Stinebaugh for owner Alfredo Garza Rodriguez, the Valiant Hero gelding has won two stakes this season, including the August 27, $59,000 Adequan Ruidoso Derby Challenge at Ruidoso Downs.

B Leaving drew post 8 and will be ridden by Ali Rivera in the fourth trial. The gelding's seven opponents in the fourth heat include Kas Shes EC, a homebred daughter of EC Jet One trained by Josue Ponce for owner Francisco Javier Garza. A two-time stakes winner this season, the filly will be shortening in distance off of her second-place run, 1 1/2 lengths behind winner Favorite Blues Man, in the October 1, 440-yard Dash For Cash Derby (G2) at Lone Star Park.
