Delta Downs Announces Late Open Futurity, The Big Easy For 2-Year-Olds

Nominations are due Wednesday, July 5, for the newly added $50,000-added Open Quarter Horse Futurity, The Big Easy, to to be run during the Fair Grounds extended meet at Delta Downs this summer.

VINTON, LA–JUNE 13, 2023–Chris Warren, Director of Racing for Delta Downs/Evangeline Downs, announced Delta Downs has added a late open futurity to their 2023 race schedule to be run during the Fair Grounds Quarter Horse extended meet this summer.

The $50,000-added 350 yard Big Easy Futurity, open to all Quarter Horse foals of 2021, will be contested at Delta Downs Friday, September 1.  Trials will run on Thursday, August 10.

Owners and trainers wishing to participate must nominate their 2-year-old's by Wednesday, July 5. 

The Big Easy Futurity nomination schedule:

$500 on or before July 5, 2023
$500 due day before trial entry (August 1, 2023).
Supplements $2,000 due day before trial entry (August 1, 2023).

All Final payments and Supplemental nominations must be on account with the Delta Downs Horsemen’s Bookkeeper prior to NOON the day before (August 1) entry to trials. Cash or Cashier Check only.
