LQHBA Sends Out March 2026 Payment Deadlines

LQHBA reminds members of upcoming March payment deadlines and urges timely, trackable mailing to ensure eligibility.

ALEXANDRIA, LA–MAY 17, 2024–The Louisiana Quarter Horse Breeders Association has released its important dates for March 2026, highlighted by key payment deadlines and a full slate of racing action at Louisiana Downs.

The second payment of $500 for the 2026 LQHBA Sale Futurity is due March 2. The fourth payment of $500 for the 2026 Louisiana Million is due March 16.

Payments must be mailed to the LQHBA office and postmarked on or before the respective due date. Members are strongly encouraged to use certified or trackable mail for their protection.

Horsemen are also reminded to ensure all 2025 foals are properly registered with the American Quarter Horse Association and that parentage verification has been completed.

On the track, Louisiana Downs will host the Mardi Gras Derby and Oaks Trials on March 5, followed by the Louisiana Downs Futurity Trials on March 6.

The Mardi Gras Futurity Trials are scheduled for March 7 and March 8. March 7 will also feature the First Backside Benevolence Fund Quarter Horse Banquet. The Mardi Gras Derby and Oaks Finals will be contested March 27.

The meet will conclude March 28 with the Louisiana Downs Futurity Finals and the Mardi Gras Futurity on closing day at Louisiana Downs.
