OPELOUSAS, LA—NOVEMBER 4, 2015—The Louisiana Quarter Horse Breeders' Association (LQHBA) will kick off their 29th annual Fall Mixed Quarter Horse Sale on Saturday (Nov. 7) at the Equine Sales of Louisiana, LLC pavilion. The sale will begin promptly at 9:30 am (CST).

The catalog lists 223 horses with a wide range of offerings from weanlings and yearlings, to broodmares, horses of racing age and barrel horse prospects. There are more than 90 Louisiana-bred yearlings that will be offered. Since 1986, the sale has offered consignors an opportunity to close out their year with quality sales and buyers one more chance to spot a future racing and breeding prospect.

The 2015 sale will again be held at the Equine Sales of Louisiana, LLC sale pavilion located at 372 Harry Guilbeau Road in Opelousas, Louisiana, only five minutes from Evangeline Downs.

Buyers and patrons should plan to come a day early to attend the $1 million LQHBA Breeders' Futurity(RG1) trials on Friday evening (Nov. 6) at Evangeline Downs and stay for the LQHBA Breeders' Derby trials on Saturday, November 7.

A total of 134 two-year-olds will compete in 14 trials on Friday, at the distance of 400 yards, with the first race to run at a special post time of 5:05 pm. The ten fastest qualifiers will return on Saturday, November 28 to vie for their share of the seven-figure purse, the richest Quarter Horse race in Louisiana.
