OPELOUSAS, LA—OCTOBER 30, 2021—San Lorenzeaux handed RG1 stakes winner Blood Money his first lost in six starts this year while setting a new track record in the $382,415 LQHBA Sale Futurity(RG1) at Evangeline Downs Saturday night.

Under jockey Raul Ramirez, Jr., San Lorenzeaux was in total control from gate-to-wire while covering the 350 yards in :17.204 seconds, a 105 speed index. The previous record of :17.235 seconds was established December 20, 2014 by Dashin Brown Streak.

A $29,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale graduate, San Lorenzeaux races for owner Rogelio Marquez, Jr. and is conditioned by trainer Hector Alcala. A son of champion Carters Cartel, from the Mr Jess Perry mare Scoopie Coochie, San Lorenzeaux has won three of five career starts and the $172,087 boosted his earnings mark to $325,813.

Amazing Blood, a $15,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale purchase for owner Jose Alfonso Ramos, earned $38,242 for finishing third.
