Apollitical Chais Breaks Maiden In Louisiana Juvenile Invitational

Under jockey David Alvarez Apollitical Chais broke in and bumped at the start but recovered nicely to complete the 400 yards in :19.742, equaling a 93 speed index into a 10 mph crosswind on the rainy sloppy (sealed) racetrack.
AQHA Racing Champion trainer Kenneth Roberts, Sr. saddled the son of leading second-crop sire Apollitical Blood to his first win five starts this season for owner Pete Scarmardo. Lester Colomb, Jr. bred the $33,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale graduate from the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Duachais.
Also a finalist in the LQHBA Sale Juvenile in October, the $8,000 second-place payday pushed La Savanne's earnings for the year to $17,920. Shelby Bernard is the breeder.
Bad Girl Corona finished half-a-length back off the outside to earn $4,400 for third. Ned Goutierrez, III conditions the daughter of first-crop sire Open Me A Corona for owners Runaway Racing LLC.
Kirby and Peter Bruchhaus bred the sorrel filly from the Stoli mare BB Stolis Girl.
Jm Friday, Shortstop Express, Apollitical High, Runaway Stars, Rf Famous Five Bar, Runaway Fast Dash and Bp Fancy Girl completed the field.
