Solid Rally Give Lightemupwithcharm Another Stakes Victory

VINTON, LA—AUGUST 22, 2020—A solid rally by Lightemupwithcharm gave the 8-year-old a half-length win over multiple stakes winner Mpshinning in the $75,00 Louisiana Classic Stakes(RG2) Saturday night at Delta Downs.

Under jockey Luciano Duenez, Lightemupwithcharm covered the classic Quarter Horse 440 yard distance in :21.459 seconds, equaling a 103 speed index. Trainer Miguel Rodriguez saddled the son of Sizzlin Cartel to nineth career win.

Owner Saul Dorado collected the $45,000 winner's purse. Bred by Jumonville Farms, from the Feature Mr Jess mare Grace Filled Charm, Lightemupwithcharm has earned $345,670.

Mpshinning, winner of the RG1 LQHBA Louisiana Million in 2018, earned $15,000 for finishing second. Conditioned by Adrian Huitron and ridden by Everardo Rodriguez, the son of Mr Piloto entered the "Classic" off back-to-back stakes wins in the Miss Polly Classic (RG2) and the Kin William Stakes.

Racing for owner Larry Boudreaux, Mpshinning has compiled a (19) 9-5-0 record and used the $15,000 runner-up payday to bring his earnings total to $761,045. Jon and Donna McPherson bred the bay colt from the First To Shine mare Shinningperrydash.

The Preston Jourdan owned-and-trained Tuckers Prize finished a neck back to earn $8,250 for third. Andy Edison rode the Fast Prize Dash 4-yaer-old out of Bb Secrets Game by Game Patriot. Kirby and Phillip Bruchhaus are the breeder.

Fabulous Black, Dashing For the Money, Leavin You Blue, Gunsmoke B, Five Bar Jewel, Jlj Imma B Famous and Barjaxs completed the field.
