Happie Happie Happie Smiles After Louisiana Starter Stakes

Happie Happie Happie, under jockey David Alvarez, winning the $40,000 Louisiana Starter Stakes Saturday at Delta Downs.

VINTON, LA—AUGUST 22, 2020—Happie Happie Happie, an 8-year-old son of multiple stakes sire Jumpn, rolled over the completion in the $40,000 Louisiana Starter Stakes to defeat Annas T Time by 1-¼ lengths Saturday at Delta Downs.

Under jockey David Alvarez, Happie Happie Happie completed the 350 yards in :17.420 seconds, equaling a 95 speed index. It was his 11th win in 32 career stats and the $24,000 payday increased his earnings to $153,472.

Juan Carrillo, Jr. trains Happie Happie Happie for owner Juan Carrillo, Sr. Chad Hart bred the sorrel gelding from the Royal Shake Em mare Goddess Athena.

Runner-up Annas T Time earned $8,000 for finishing second. Lanny Keith trains the 6-year-old One Famous Brioni mare for owner A and J Running Horses. Leonardo Rodriguez had the riding call aboard the Natalie Montgomery, DVM bred out of T Storm (TB) aby Salt Lake (TB). She has earned $52,966.

Rosendo Valdez' Leavin You Tonight finished one-length back to earn $4,400 for third. Rosendo Valdez, Jr. saddled with Luciano Duenez riding. Steve Duhon bred the Coronas Leaving Your gelding from the Streakin La Jolla mare Ozzys Lil Sista.

Cartels Angel, Mauvais Boj, Strut For Petes Sake, Fast Lolo, Rf Miss Dashin Duck, Stylinandprofilin and Ms Agouti Dash completed the field.
