Lil Biscuit Rallies In Mother's Day Stakes Victory


Lil Biscuit, under jockey Randy Edison, cruises to an easy win in the $40,000 Mother's Day Stakes at Delta Downs.

VINTON, LA—MAY 11, 2019—Ridden by jockey Randy Edison, Lil Biscuit rallied over Ss Classyjess to score her first career stakes win Saturday night in the $40,000 Mother's Day Stakes at Delta Downs.

The daughter of leading sire Heza Fast Dash rolled to a one-length win while completing the 350 yards in :17.618 seconds, an 89 speed index on a muddy sealed racetrack. Trainer M. Heath Taylor conditions the 4-year-old for owners MCM Farms LLC and PDC Racing.

Bred by Israel Flores, from the thoroughbred mare Biscuit Eater by Kentucky Jazz, Lil Biscuit has compiled a (6) 4-0-0 record. Also a finalist in the Delta Downs Louisiana Bred Derby, the sorrel filly picked up $24,000 in the Mother's Day to bring her bankroll to $67,173.

Runner-up Ss Classyjess earned $5,000 for her second-place effort. Jose Carrizales trains the 3-year-old daughter of Rock Solid Jess for owner Edgar Rosales. Bred in Texas by Ronnie Stewart's Double S Farm, Ss Classyjess is out of the Royal Shake Em mare High Class Road. Everardo Rodriguez rode the $23,851 earner.

Another three-quarters' back was Elite Quarter Horses Heza Fast Dash daughter Monees Fast Cash. Jockey John Hamilton had the riding call aboard the 4-year-old, from the Streakin La Jolla mare Cash For Mawnee, for trainer Fernando Lopez. Bred in Louisiana by Daniel Trahan, the multiple stakes-placed filly has earned $43,135.

Corona Down Perry and Flamin Hot Fortune completed the field. Corona Carmelita and Moon Dash Cartel were both scratched.
