Im Mighty Fast Returns To Win Column in Magnolia Stakes Saturday

BOSSIER CITY, LA—FEBRUARY 4, 2017—Out three-wide on the turn, post-time favorite Im Mighty Fast drove clear in the stretch to defeat Game On by three-lengths in the 12th running of the $25,000 Magnolia Stakes Saturday afternoon at Louisiana Downs. Another three back Rackin In The Jax got up over Summer Motion to finish third.

Ridden by jockey Jose Rodriguez, Im Mighty Fast raced over the 870-yard course in :45.690 seconds to earn a 98-speed index. Trainer Guadalupe Tristan saddled the son of Mighty Corona to his eighth career win for owner Triple C Racing Stables LLC.

Brent Cody Leblanc bred Im Mighty Fast from the Beat The Feet (TB) mare Sheza Fast Doll. The multiple stakes winning 4-year-old gelding has compiled a (21) 8-3-2 record in three seasons at the track and the $15,000 Magnolia winners' purse boosted his total earnings past $88,000.

Coming off a fourth-place finish in the Marathon Stakes last month, Game Own picked up $5,000 for his second-place effort under jockey Hector Santiago. Yoani Abreu conditions the 6-year-old Game Patriot gelding for owner Yaima Grillo. Kenny Fletcher bred the stakes winner from the Six Fortune mare My Own Fortune. He has earned $110,502.

Multiple stakes-placed Rakin In The Jax races for owner/breeder Angela Dowden and trainer Jason Magnon. Lucas Constantin had the riding call aboard the 5-year-old Rakin In The Cash gelding out of Alcohol and Ambiance by Panther Mountain. He earned $2,750 for the effort.

Completing the field were Summer Motion, Shining Presence, Agoutis Snowplow, Sir Lucky Strike and Sir Prize.
