One Hot Flame Sets Top Mark in Rich LQHBA Sale Futurity Trials

NEW ORLEANS, LA—AUGUST 17, 2016—Getting his third win in four starts this season, One Hot Flame dug in late to get up over Tf Races Runaway in the ninth of 12 trials Wednesday afternoon at Fair Grounds Race Course.

The son of multiple stakes sire Fast Prize Dash posted the top qualifying mark of:17.580 seconds, a 92-speed index into an 8 mph crosswind, for the RG1 LQHBA Sale Futurity.

The 10 fastest qualifiers, from 115 Louisiana-bred juveniles who started in the trials, will return to Fair Grounds Race Course on Saturday, September 3rd and vie for the winner's share of $323,488 purse.

Trainer Adrian Huitron saddled One Hot Flame for owners Double H Racing Investment LLC. Manuel Gutierrez was aboard the brown gelding that entered the race of a win in the Louisiana Juvenile Stakes at Delta Downs in his last start, July 9th. Bred by Margie Loup, from the Finance The Cat (TB) mare Rump Shakin, One Hot Flame has earned nearly $50,000 this year.

Lee Berwick Memorial Futurity(RG1) finalist Tf Racee Runaway finished second under jockey John Hamilton to get the second fastest time of :17.605 seconds. Lanny Keith trains the Sir Runaway Dash gelding for owner Tate Farms.

Teddy Berry bred Tf Racee Runaway from the Streakin La Jolla mare Racee Rainbows. Third in the Laddie Futurity(RG2) in April, the bay gelding has earned $23,281.

Mardi Gras Futurity(RG3) winner Rdd Lajollanfastdash bounced off his only career loss in the Lee Berwick Memorial finals to win the 8th trial by one-length and record the third fastest time of :17.689 seconds.

Jose Sanchez conditions the son of leading sire Heza Fast Dash for owner Miguel Aguilar. The winner of four of five starts, who was shut off at the start in the Lee Berwick, has earned $157, 081 this season. Regular rider Raul Ramirez, Jr. was aboard.

Sire Runaway Dash sired three of 10 qualifiers and first crop sire Tee Cos got a finalist.
