Scooter Prize Picks Up Second Stakes of Meet in Streakin La Jolla


Scooter Prize with David Alvarez up goes wire-to-wire to win the 10th running of the Streakin La Jolla Stakes at Louisiana Downs.

BOSSIER CITY, LA—MARCH 21, 2015—Scooter Prize broke well under jockey David Alvarez then drew off to defeat Her O Beduino by 1˝ lengths Saturday in the $15,000 Streakin La Jolla Stakes at Louisiana Downs. Heza Fast Rogue finished three-quarters back in the show position.

Racing for owner Ana Alvidrez, Scooter Prize got her second stakes win of the current Louisiana Downs meet by completing the 400 yards in :19.668 seconds, a 102 speed index over the sloppy racing surface.

Martin Trejo conditions the 4-year-old daughter of First Prize Perry who won the Party Girl Stakes on January 31 and was second in the Mr Jess Perry Stakes on February 28. The Streakin La Jolla victory is her ninth win in 25 starts and the $9,000 winner's purse boosts the filly's earnings total to $248,845.

John Leger bred Scooter Prize in Louisiana from the A Royale High mare Royal Baby Scooter.

Here O Beduino is a California homebred racing for owner/breeder Cynthia Cruz. Isidro Flores conditions the No Secrets Here 4-year-old out of Keen O Beduino, by Chicks Beduino. Ridden by Raul Ramirez, Jr., the gray colt earned $3,000 for the effort.

Heza Fast Rogue earned $1,650 for owners Brock Broussard and Jacque Bourque. Kevin Broussard trains the Heza Fast Dash 4-year-old out of Miss Jess Rogue, by Mr Jess Perry. Donald Watson was aboard the multiple stakes-placed earner of $243,500.

Completing the La Jolla Stakes field were Zoomin Effortlessly, The Eagle Express, Hesablackmagic and Imkeepingscore.
