Mr Tee Cos Stays Perfect With Second Stakes Victory

NEW ORLEANS, LA—SEPTEMBER 2, 2016—Under jockey John Hamilton multiple stakes winner Mr Tee Cos popped from the gate Saturday and held for a head win over Jess A Little Star in the $40,000 De Saix Stakes at Fair Grounds Race Course. Sizzlin Stewart finished a neck back in the blanket finish to secure third.

Saddled by Trey Ellis, Mr Tee Cos completed the 300-yard task in :15.507 seconds into a 4 mph crosswind to pocket the $18,000 De Saix winners' purse. The 2-year-old colt kept his record a perfect 4-for-4.

The son of first crop sire Tee Cos races for owner Winston Houston. Co-bred by Houston and Marcus Tillman, Mr Tee cost won the Alabama Futurity at Delta Downs in June and has earned $54,847. He is out of the Dashing Val mare Dashing Danali.

Multiple graded stakes-placed Jess A Little Star earned $8,000 for her second place effort. Adrian Huiton conditions the Jess An Idea filly for owner Juan Bazaldua. Bred by J & B Rental, Inc., the gray filly finished third in the RG2 LQHBA Lassie Futurity in May and was fourth in the Mardi Gras Futurity(RG2) in March. Out of the Mr Eye Opener mare Little Eye Opener, Jess A Little Star has earned nearly $70,000.

Already a stakes winner, Sizzlin Stewart added $3,300 to bring his bankroll to $58,807. Kenneth Roberts, Sr. trains the Old South Futurity winner for owner P and D Racing. Also a finalist in the Grade 2 Firecracker Futurity, Stewart Horses Ltd. bred the son of first crop sire Sizzlin Cartel from the Rare Form mare Stone Ginger. Gilbert Ortiz was riding.

Completing the official order of finish were Blue Eyed Cartel, Mps Shake Em N Style, Sassy Chic 3341, Bankin On Bux, Jet Black Chiraq, Dragon N Panther and Ttt El Vago.
