VINTON, LA—APRIL 7, 2016—A renamed daughter of Sir Runaway Dash posted the top mark Thursday night when 128 two-year-olds went to the post in 16 schooling races for fillies who remain eligible to the LQHBA Lassie Futurity or the Old South Futurity at Delta Downs.

Purchased by Horses Of Fire, Inc. for $10,000, under the name Special Runway Dash, the filly was renamed Corazon Dfuego. Trained by Jose Garcia, the sorrel filly clocked the fastest time of :12.125 seconds for 220 yards in Race 6 on Thursday night. Jockey N. Castaneda was aboard the filly out of the stakes winning and stakes-producing Special Effort mare Special Rockette.

Corazon Dfuego finished a troubled fourth in her only official start, a trial to the Mardi Gras Futurity on February 20th. Jerry Carpenter is the breeder.

Esmeralda Peck's Jls Shes Sassy finished second in Race 6 to get the second fastest time of :12.129 seconds. Also an LQHBA graduate, Jls Shes Sassy is from the first crop of G1-placed Tee Cos out of a half-sister to champions Jumping Tac Flash and Splash Bac. Patrick Clemons trains for Mrs. Peck. JLS-Speedhorse Ranch, Inc. bred the $6,000 summer sale filly.

Fast Dashin Dee, the first of four winners on Thursday's training card for leading Louisiana sire Heza Fast Dash, posted the third fastest time of :12.339 seconds after winning Race 3. The bay filly sold in the LQHBA Yearling Sale two lots after Jls Shes Sassy for $25,000 to the partnership Ten For Ten LLC. Michel Taylor trains the half-sister to Grade 3 winner Jump Down Azoom.

Bred by Jeffrey Lee Jones, Fast Dashin Dee's second dam is the aforementioned champion 2-year-old filly Jumping Tac Flash, the dam of champion Carters Cartel and Grade 1 winner Tack It Like a Man (a brother to Fast Dashin Dee dam Jump Down First, by First Down Dash). Both horses are young multiple stakes sires.

A $7,000 LQHBA Yearling repurchase, Ivys Best Game was an impressive winner in Race 9 for owner/breeders Earl and Rene Landry. M. Trujillo rode the Best Advice filly to the fourth fastest time of :12.383 seconds for trainer Donald Watson, Jr.

Ivys Best Game is the first foal of the winning Game Patriot mare Ferdies One Eyed, a half-sister to RG2-placed Rt Runnin To Achieve. This is the family of stakes winners Oh Honi Oh, Native Again and Especially Effort.

Heza Fast Dash led all sires with four 2-year-old winners. Sir Runaway Dash and Coronas Leaving You had three each. Also getting winners on Thursday's card were second crop sire Givinitaroyaleffort and multiple stake sires Oak Tree Special, Swingin Jess, Dashin Bye, Game Patriot and Jess Louisiana Blue.
