OPELOUSAS, LA–NOVEMBER 22, 2022–A total of 126 state-bred 2-year-olds, led by the undefeated multiple graded stakes winner San Lorenzo Jet, are entered in Friday's 400-yard Louisiana Million Futurity (RG1) trials at Evangeline Downs.

Fourteen trials will be contested. Post time for the first race is set for 4:05 p.m. (CST).

A $49,000 purchase at last year's Louisiana QHBA Yearling Sale, San Lorenzo Jet is a son of the Game Patriot stallion Jet Black Patriot trained by Jesus Marquez for owner Rogelio Marquez Jr. The bay gelding has won all four of his races, all in Louisiana, and he has earned $553,410, and his early season record includes a 1 1/2-length victory in the May 28, $332,000 Louisiana Breeders' Laddie Futurity (RG2), and a 1 1/2-length win in the July 16, $744,000 Lee Berwick Futurity (RG1), both at Delta Downs.

San Lorenzo Jet drew post 4 and will be ridden by David Alvarez in the seventh trial.

The Marquez team will also be represented in Friday's trials by San Lorenzo Moon, a homebred daughter of Apollitical Blood. San Lorenzo Moon has won three of six starts and has banked $341,257, and he will be stretching out in distance off of his neck victory on a muddy and sealed track in the September 3, 350-yard Louisiana QHBA Sale Futurity (RG1) at Delta Downs.

San Lorenzo Moon drew post 6 and will be ridden by David Alvarez in the 10th heat.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the December 17, $1-million Louisiana Million Futurity final.
