Ninety-Two Juveniles Entered in Evangeline Downs Futurity Trials

Graded stakes winners One Fine V and Meet Me Out Back are among the 92 2-year-olds entered in Friday's 400-yard Evangeline Downs Futurity (G3) trials at Evangeline Downs.

A daughter of champion One Famous Eagle racing for Jose Maria Garza and Mario H. Vazquez, One Fine V has earned $299,910 from seven starts, and her three wins include a 1 1/2-length victory in the July 9, $306,000 Firecracker Futurity (G2) at Delta Downs. The sorrel filly's early season record included a third-place finish, a half of a length behind winner Tres Crystals, in the May 28, $1.112-million Heritage Place Futurity (G1) at Remington Park.

One Fine V was a $17,500 purchase at last year's Heritage Place Yearlng Sale. The filly drew the rail post and will be ridden by J.R. Ramirez in the third of 10 trials.

An $18,000 buy at last year''s Heritage Place Yearling Sale, Meet Be Out Back has won two of nine races and has banked $91,150, and he will be stretching out in distance off of his head victory in the 350-yard, $134,000 John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship (G2) at Horseshoe Indianapolis on October 22. Jose Villafranco trains the gelded son of Dominyun for owner Jose Meraz.

Meet Me Out Back drew post 4 and will be ridden by Jesus Salazar in the ninth heat.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the December 16, $100,000-added Evangeline Downs Futurity final.
