San Lorenzo Dash, Five Bar Miracles Headline Amelia Belle Stakes

OPELOUSAS, LA–OCTOBER 11, 2022–
A full field of 10 Louisiana-bred distaffers, headed by early favorites San Lorenzo Dash and Five Bar Miracles, is entered in Friday's 350-yard, $30,000 Amelia Belle Stakes (R) at Evangeline Downs.

A homebred sophomore daughter of Heza Fast Dash racing for Rogelio Marquez Jr., San Lorenzo Dash has won three of her last four races, including a 250-yard, $26,000 open-condition allowance dash for Louisiana-breds at Delta Downs on September 3. The filly's season resume includes a second-place finish, a head behind winner Domniksmiraclebaby, in the July 16, 220-yard Flying Breed Stakes (R) for state-bred sprinters.

San Lorenzo Dash drew post 7 and will be ridden by David Alvarez for trainer Jesus M. Marquez.

Five Bar Miracles races for owner and trainer Mark Kendrick. A 5-year-old daughter of Five Bar Cartel, the mare is coming off of a Delta Downs summer campaign during which she earned $20,600 from five races and ran second, 1 1/2 lengths behind winner Sheza Freighttrain T, in the July 16, 330-yard Flashy Hemp Stakes (R) for state-bred fillies and mares.

Five Bar Miracles drew post 5 and will be ridden by J. R. Ramirez.

The Amelia Belle is restricted to fillies and mares who have not won a stakes race.
