VINTON, LA–JUNE 20, 2022–
Sixteen 350-yard Lee Berwick Futurity (RG1) trials -- eight on Friday and eight on Saturday -- will be contested this weekend at Delta Downs.

A total of 124 Louisiana-bred 2-year-olds are entered. The five fastest qualifiers from each night of trials will meet in the July 16, $200,000-added final.

Graded stakes winners Mrs Kennedy TLC and San Lorenzo Jet headline Friday's trials. A $6,500 purchase at last year's Louisiana QHBA Yearling Sale, Mrs Kennedy TLC has earned $180,596 from four races, and her three wins include a three-quarter length in the March 27, $383,000 Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) for state-bred juveniles at Louisiana Downs. Mrs Kennedy TLC is trained by Miguel Pizana for owner Edwardo Lopez.

Mrs Kennedy TLC drew post 7 and will be ridden by Arturo Alvarez in Friday's fifth trial.

San Lorenzo Jet races for Rogelio Marquez Jr., who purchased the bay son of Jet Black Patriot for $49,000 at last year's LQHBA Yearling Sale. The bay colt will be stretching out in distance off of his 1 1/2-length victory in the May 28, 330-yard Louisiana Breeders' Laddie Futuriy (RG2).

San Lorenzo Jet drew post 5 and will be ridden by David Alvarez for trainer Jesus M. Marquez in Friday's third heat.

Saturday's trials are headlined by San Lorenzo Moon and Diamondonatrain. Trained by Jesus M. Marquez for owner Rogelio Marquez Jr., San Lorenzo Moon is a homebred Apollitical Blood filly who has banked $58,818 from two outs, and she is coming off of a second-place finish, 1 1/2 lengths behind winner Btrain, in the May 27, $311,000 Louisiana Breeders' Lassie Futurity (RG2).

San Lorenzo Moon drew post 5 and will be ridden by David Alvarez in Saturday's third trial.

Diamondonatrain is trained by Pedro A. Lopez for owner J and J Stone Co. Inc., which purchased the Freighttrain B gelding for $26,500 at last year's LQHBA Yearling Sale. Diamondonatrain has won two of four races and has earned $46,392, and his record includes a third-place run in the Louisiana Breeders' Laddie Futurity.

Diamondonatrain drew post 6 and will be ridden by Manuel Gutierrez in Saturday's fourth heat.
