Louisiana Breeders’ Laddie Futurity Trials Draw 156 State-Bred Colts and Geldings

VINTON, LA—MAY 18, 2021—Put Me N Coach, a graded stakes placed son of champion Carters Cartel owned by Lorena Morales and a $20,000 purchase at last year’s LQHBA Yearling Sale, is one of 156 state-bred colts and geldings entered in Saturday’s 330-yard Louisiana Breeders’ Laddie Futurity (RG2) trials at Delta Downs.

Sixteen trials will be run on Saturday. Post time for the first race is set for 12 p.m. (CDT).

Put Me N Coach will be stretching out in distance off of his third-place placing in the 300-yard, $350,000 Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) a Louisiana Downs on March 27. The bay gelding has won one of two starts and has earned $38,595.

Put Me N Coach drew the rail post and will be ridden by Jesse Levario for trainer Juan A. Carrillo Jr. in the fifth trial.

Other prominent Louisiana-bred colts and geldings entered in Saturday’s trials include Manuel Morales’ La Jetn Cartel, a son of Jet Black Patriot and a $9,000 buy at last year’s LQHBA Yearling Sale. The colt was placed fourth in the Mardi Gras Futurity, and he has banked $25,696 from two outs.

La Jetn Cartel drew post 8 and will be ridden by J.R. Ramirez in the eighth heat.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the June 12, $75,000-added Louisiana Breeders’ Laddie Futurity final.
