Evangeline Downs Futurity Trials Set for Friday

OPELOUSAS, LA—NOVEMBER 10, 2020—Pyc Painted Streaker, a son of Pyc Paint Your Wagon racing for Valerie Moya, is one of 99 2-year-olds entered in Friday’s 400-yard Evangeline Downs Futurity (G3) trials at Evangeline Downs.

Pyc Painted Streaker is coming off of a second-place finish, a half of a length behind winner Onemoreandimgone V, in the 400-yard, $364,000 Dash For Cash Futurity (G2) at Lone Star Park on September 27. The gelding has earned $101,686 from four races, and his three wins include a half-length victory in the 350-yard, $91,000 Gillespie County Fair Firecracker Futurity in July.

Pyc Painted Streaker drew post 5 and will be ridden by Jose I. Martinez for trainer Hector Alcala in the last of 11 trials.

Jose J. Espinosa’s Fear The Dragon, a graded stakes placed Favorite Cartel gelding trained by Francisco Campos Jr., drew post 7 and will be ridden by Manuel Gutierrez in the third heat. Fear The Dragon has earned $57,700 from six starts, and his resume includes a second-place finish, 1 3/4 lengths behind winner High Value Of Return, in the July 25, $137,000 Speedhorse Futurity (G3) at Fair Meadows at Tulsa.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the December 12, $100,000 Evangeline Downs Futurity final.
