Tee Ray Returns in $47,242 Louisiana Downs Maiden Stakes Final

BOSSIER CITY, LA—FEBRUARY 6, 2017—Benigno Sanchez Jr.’s Tee Ray, a gelded son of Tee Cos and the fastest qualifier, drew post 8 for Saturday’s 350-yard, $47,242 Louisiana Downs Maiden Stakes.
Tee Ray is coming off of a half-length victory as the 19-10 favorite in the third of five trials on January 21. The gelding has earned $18,330 from eight starts while racing exclusively in Louisiana.
Tee Ray will be ridden by Damian Martinez. His nine opponents include Black Ice, a 4-year-old Game Patriot gelding trained by Martin Trejo for owner Rogelio Marquez Jr. Black Ice broke his maiden with a 1 1/4-length win in the last trial. J.R. Ramirez will ride Black Ice from the rail post.
