VINTON, LA—MAY 30, 2016—Kevin C. Nobles’ Streak Of Music is one of seven distance specialists entered in Friday’s 870-yard, $25,000 Virgil Bond Stakes at Delta Downs.
A 5-year-old Miracle Streak gelding trained by Ray Robbins, Streak Of Music has won three of his four starts since he was claimed for $10,000 at Delta Downs on June 13, 2015. Streak Of Music has won five of his 15 outs at the 870 distance, including the September 5, $30,000 Faubourg St John Stakes at Fair Grounds Racecourse in New Orleans.
Streak Of Music drew post 5 and will be ridden by Damian Martinez. The gelding’s six opponents include JLS Speed Horse Ranch’s JLS Book Of Psalms, a homebred 5-year-old son of First Prize Perry trained by Lanny Keith. A two-time winner at the 870 distance, the gelding ran second, one length behind winner TF Corona N Passion, in last year’s Virgil Bond.
Lucas Constantin will ride JLS Book Of Psalms from the rail post.
