Old South Futurity, Mother’s Day Stakes Featured on Delta’s Saturday Card

VINTON, LA—MAY 10, 2018—A field of 10 2-year-olds, topped by fastest qualifier Parti Wagon, has been entered back in the 330-yard, $112,305 Old South Futurity, one of two official stakes on Delta Downs’ 10-race program on Saturday.
A homebred son of Pyc Paint Your Wagon owned and trained by Joe M. Davis, Parti Wagon is coming off of a clear two-length victory in the eighth of nine trials on April 21. The colt drew post 6 and will be ridden by Antonio Alberto.

A gray 4-year-old Ivory James mare trained by Josue Ponce, Marfilous will be stretching out in distance off of her nose victory in the 330-yard, $20,000 Miss Houston Stakes (R) for Texas-bred fillies and mares at Sam Houston Race Park on April 14. Marfilous drew post 8 and will be ridden by Damian Martinez.
Other contenders include Zenergetic, the runner-up to Marfilous in the Miss Houston. Trained by Trey Ellis for the Zenergetic Group partnership, the 5-year-old daughter of Dominyun will be ridden by Luis Vivanco from post 6.
