OPELOUSAS, LA—NOVEMBER 13, 2017—A total of 132 state-bred 2-year-olds, headed by four graded stakes winners, has been entered in Friday’s 400-yard Louisiana Million Futurity (RG1) trials at Evangeline Downs.

The 10 fastest qualifiers from Friday’s 15 trials will meet in the December 16, $1-million Louisiana Million Futurity final. Formerly known as the Louisiana Quarter Horse Breeders’ Association Futurity, the Louisiana Million is the state’s richest horse race for any breed.

Rogelio Marquez Jr.’s Dashnunder Afullmoon, a daughter of Heza Fast Dash trained by Saul Ramirez Jr., has won all four of her outs, including two graded stakes, and has earned $527,089. The filly will be making her first start since July 8, when she scored a half-length victory as the even-money favorite in the 350-yard, $705,000 Lee Berwick Memorial Futurity (RG1) at Delta Downs.

Dashnunder Afullmoon drew post 6 and will be ridden by Eddie Sanchez in the sixth trial.

JRS Taylors Runnaway, a son of Sir Runaway Dash trained by Martin Trejo for owner Rosalio Espinosa, brings in a three-race win streak that includes an upset victory at odds of 28-1 in the 350-yard, $297,000 LQHBA Sale Futurity (RG1) at Fair Grounds Racecourse. The gelding drew post 5 and will be ridden by Jorge Linares in the fourth heat.

Saul Ramirez Jr. will also send out Blue Eyed Fance, an undefeated homebred Jess Louisiana Blue filly owned by Alejandro Moya. Blue Eyed Fance has won both of her outs, including the 300-yard, $272,000 Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) at Louisiana Downs in March, and she has banked $125,882.

Eddie Sanchez will ride Blue Eyed Fance from post 5 in the ninth trial.

TM Ranch’s JLS Dash N Fire, an undefeated Heza Fast Dash colt trained by Kenneth Roberts Sr., is the 9-5 morning-line favorite in the 11th heat. JLS Dash N Fire was a prompt 2-1 favorite in his most recent out, the 330-yard, $266,000 Louisiana Breeders’ Laddie Futurity (RG2) at Delta Downs on May 20.

David Alvarez will ride JLS Dash N Fire from post 4.
