Jet Black Presence Headlines Billy Montgomery Stakes

OPELOUSAS, LA—OCTOBER 30, 2017—Jet Black Presence, a 5-year-old daughter of Jet Black Patriot owned by Charles J. Boudreaux Jr., is one of eight Louisiana-bred distaffers entered in Wednesday’s 330-yard, $30,000 Billy Montgomery Stakes (R) at Evangeline Downs.

Trained by Kenneth Roberts Sr., Jet Black Presence is coming off of a third-place finish, 1 1/2 lengths behind winner Shez The Bomb, in the 350-yard, $40,000 Audubon Stakes (R) at Fair Grounds on August 19. The mare has earned $27,600 from four starts this season, all in Louisiana.

Jet Black Presence drew the rail post and will be ridden by Donald Watson.

The Billy Montgomery Stakes is restricted to state-bred fillies and mares who have not won a stakes race. The complete lineup, in post position order including jockey assignments and morning-line odds:
