Fastest Qualifier Dashin Swinger Draws Post Draws Post 7 for Louisiana Breeders’ Lassie Futurity

VINTON, LA—MAY 16, 2016—Dashin Swinger, a sorrel daughter of Swingin Jess and the fastest qualifier, drew post 7 for Friday’s 330-yard, $298,012 Louisiana Breeders’ Lassie Futurity (RG2) at Delta Downs.

Trained by Erasmo Hernandez for owners Jesus Cervantes and Antonio Fierro, Dashin Swinger made her debut with a half-length victory in the last of 14 trials on April 29. The filly was a $6,500 purchase at last year’s Louisiana Quarter Horse Association Yearling Sale.

Juan D. Marquez will ride Dashin Swinger in Friday’s final.

Third-fastest qualifier Jess A Little Star is trained by Adrian Huitron for owner Juan J. Bazaldua. A gray filly by the Mr Jess Perry stallion Jess An Idea, Jess A Little Star was a prompt odds-on favorite in her trial, and her resume includes a fourth-place finish, three lengths behind winner Rdd Lajollanfastdash, in the 300-yard, $273,000 Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) at Louisiana Downs in March.

Jess A Little Star drew post 4 and will be ridden by Damian Martinez.
