Streaking Open Me A Corona Draws Rail for Evangeline’s Opelousas Stakes

OPELOUSAS, LA—NOVEMBER 10, 2015—Open Me A Corona, a 5-year-old son of Coronas Leaving You with a four-race win streak, drew post 1 for Saturday’s 400-yard, $50,000 Opelousas Stakes (R) for Louisiana-breds at Evangeline Downs.
Trained by Bobby Martinez for owners Charles Forbes Jr. and Tommy Hays, Open Me A Corona will be making his first start since July 11, when the stallion scored a neck victory in the 440-yard, $100,000 Louisiana Classic (RG1) at Delta Downs. Open Me A Corona has won all four of his starts this season, all against state-bred stakes company, and he has earned $141,000.
Saul Ramirez Jr. has once again been named to ride Open Me A Corona in the Opelousas Stakes. Other contenders include Heza Fast Rogue, a stakes winner during the current Evangeline Downs fall meet. Trained by Kevin Broussard for Brock Broussard and Bourque J. Broussard, the bay 4-year-old son of Heza Fast Dash is coming off of a half-length win in the 350-yard, $35,000 Amelia Belle Stakes (R) on October 3.
Heza Fast Rogue drew post 7 and will be ridden by Donald Watson.
