Cartels Fortune is Morning-Line Favorite for Gentilly Dash

NEW ORLEANS, LA—AUGUST 19, 2015—Rodney Verret’s Cartels Fortune drew post 5 for Saturday’s 250-yard, $30,000 Gentilly Dash Stakes at Fair Grounds Race Course.
A 4-year-old daughter of Carters Cartel trained by Kenneth Roberts Sr., Cartels Fortune will be making her first start since May 30, when she ran third, a head behind winner Oldsmobile Hill, in the 350-yard, $25,000 Develop A Plan Stakes at Delta Downs. The mare has earned $122,500 from 12 outs, and her seven wins include a nose victory in last year’s 400-yard, $126,000 Evangeline Downs Derby.
Cartels Fortune will be ridden by Patrick Watson.
Other contenders include Joan Rood’s Zoomin For Bugs, a 3-year-old son of Zoomin For Bux trained by Randy Hebert. The gelding has won his last three races, all at this 250-yard distance, including the July 11, $50,000 Flying Breed Stakes (R) for Louisiana-breds at Delta Downs.
Zoomin For Bugs drew post 3 and will be ridden by Armando Ramirez.
