BOSSIER CITY, LA—FEBRUARY 21, 2015—JLS Dashn And Zoomn, a son of Sir Runaway Dash owned by Jose and Yolanda Guzman’s J & Y Racing, is one of 31 state-bred sophomores entered in Sunday’s 400-yard Mardi Gras Derby (R) trials at Louisiana Downs.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the $93,898 final on March 14. The winner’s share of the purse will be $42,254.

Trained by Brenda Foster, JLS Dashn And Zoomn sports a four-race win streak that includes a 1 1/2-length victory in the 350-yard, $25,000 Bill Montgomery Stakes (R) at Louisiana Downs on January 15, and a half-length score in the 400-yard, $1-million Louisiana Quarter Horse Breeders’ Association Futurity (RG1) -- the state’s richest race for any breed -- at Evangeline Downs on November 29.

All told, JLS Dashn And Zoomn has won five of nine starts and has earned $482,710. Raul Ramirez Jr. will ride the gelding from post 2 in the second of four trials.
