NEW ORLEANS, LA—AUGUST 18, 2018—Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots presented two stakes on its Saturday, August 18 program.

It was another impressive performance by Ms Leaving You, who topped a field of ten accredited Louisiana-bred fillies and mares in the $40,000 Audubon Stakes.

Bred by Grant Farms, LLC and owned by McGeHee Horse & Cattle Company, LLC, the 4-year-old daughter of Coronas Leaving You showed her affinity for a sloppy track as she also won the Par A Dice Stakes over similar track conditions on July 5 at Delta Downs.

This afternoon, she broke from the rail under Luciano Duenez and won in gate to wire fashion, covering 350-yards in a final time of :17.382.

Kenneth Weeks explained that Ms Leaving You has matured considerably since he began training her in July, 2017.

“To be honest, she was antsy and had no manners,” he said. “But, I liked her from day one and we just took our time with her. We felt she was coming into this stakes in good form.”

M&M Stables LLC’s La Mos Corona entered the starting gate with a lofty win streak of six in a row, including three stakes this year. Bred by Oscar Rhone, the daughter of Coronas Leaving You out of the multiple-stakes winning mare La Mos Chingono is trained by Orlando Orozco. Non Stop Patriot, with Noe Castaneda riding for trainer Manuel Macias, ran a game third at odds of 28-1 and Jess Political, one of two fillies trained by LQHBA and 2017 AQHA champion trainer Kenneth Roberts, Sr, completed the superfecta. Stormy T, Fastdashing Lassie, Rf Shez Leaving You, Tf Ms Perrys Runaway, Geaux Blue and Jess a Corona Baby completed the order of finish.

Out of the Splash Bac mare, Ms Pilot Point, Ms Leaving You has now won four of her 11 starts. Sent off as the second choice in the wagering, she paid $6.80 for the win and has banked $76,632 to date. Weeks said she will make her next start toward the middle of the Evangeline Downs Quarter Horse meet.
