Fastest Qualifier Mr Tee Cos Returns To Win Alabama Futurity

VINTON, LA—JUNE 24, 2016—Fastest qualifier Mr Tee Cos jumped to an early lead drifted in slightly before holding to easily defeat This Dolls Gone by half-a-length in the $51,495 Alabama Futurity Friday night at Delta Downs. Pops Marboro Man finished one-length back in the show position.

Ridden by jockey John Hamilton, Mr Tee Cos kept his record a perfect 3-for-3 while completing the 330 yards in :16.293 seconds. The $25,747 winner's purse boosted his career total to $36,847.

Trey Ellis conditions the Alabama homebred for owners Winston Houston and Marcus Tillman. The son of first crop sire Tee Cos is out of Dashing Danali, by Dashing Val.

This Dolls Game, a daughter of Coronas Leaving Your from the Finding Nemo mare Fast Prize Doll Too, earned $8,754 for her second place effort. Winless in four starts this season, she was third in both her Alabama Futurity trial and Old South Futurity trial. Kenneth Weeks trains with Joe Badilla, Jr. getting the riding assignment. Cook and Stanley and is the breeder.

Pops Marboro Man picked up $5,149 for his third place finish. Also a maiden from three starts the son of A Rare Fortune races for owner Jamie Brown and trainer Juan Picazo. Susanne Brown bred the sorrel gelding from the Quick To Flare Up mare Pops Quick Cash. Jerry Lee Yoakum was up.

Sent to the gate at odds of 3-5, Mr Tee Cos paid $3.40 to win, $2.80 to place and $2.40 to show. This Dolls Gone was worth $4 to place and $3.20 to show. Pops Marboro Man returned $4.80 to show.

Shady Grey finished fourth but was disqualified and placed fifth for interfering with Wild Bill. Completing the official order of finish were Wild Bill, Shady Gray, Flared Up Streaker, I Fly Faasstt, Bigtime Dreamer and Steal My Vodka. Red Woody was a late scratch.

Delta Downs will wrap up its 10th week of American Quarter Horse racing on Saturday night with another 10-race program that will begin at 6:15 pm. The Saturday feature is the $50,000 Miss Polly Classic featuring 2014 AQHA World Champion Jrc Callas First.
