Jes A Fast Dasher, Open Me A Corona Score in Delta Undercard Stakes

VINTON, LA—JULY 11, 2015—Delta Downs hosted six additional stakes on Saturday night's closing card including the $217,640 Delta Downs Derby won by Jes A Fast Dasher and the $100,000 Louisiana Classic Stakes won by Open Me A Corona.

The also carded the $50,000 Live Oak, $50,000 Flying Breed, $50,000 Flashy Hemp and $40,000 Louisiana Starter Stakes.

Jes A Fast Dasher Rallies In Delta Downs Derby

Jockey Lucas Constantin rallied Jes A Fast Dasher to defeat Mda Game by half-a-length in the $217,640 Delta Downs Derby Saturday night at Delta Downs. Sweet Okey Baby finished third but was disqualified and placed seventh for interference. Icanonlyemagine moved up to the show position.

Trainer Kenneth Roberts, Sr. saddled Jes A Fast Dasher, a homebred son of leading sire Heza Fast Dash, for owner/breeder Tony Doughtie. The sorrel gelding completed the 400 yard course in :19.838 seconds to pocket the winner's check worth $108,820. It was the sixth win in nine starts for Jes A Fast Dasher who is now earned $377,972. He is out of the Game Patriot mare Jes A Game.

Winless in 10 career starts, Mda Game picked up $36,999 for his second place effort to bring his earnings mark to over $55,000. The Game Patriot gelding has finished second or third in seven races for owner/breeder Manuel Alvarez. Ignacio Garcia trains with Alfonso Lujan getting the riding assignment. Mda Game is out of the Roll The Cash mare Mary Roll.

Already a stakes winner, Icanonlyemagine earned $21,764 after getting moved up to third. Kenneth Roberts, Sr. trains the Swingin Jess gelding for owner Bobby Cox. Daniel Trahan bred the Swingin Jess gelding from the Dash For Cash mare Real Or Imagined. He has earned $118,577.

Completing the official order of finish were Louisiana Legends, Vf Ought To Jet, Louisiana Jambalaya, Sweet Okey Dokey, Shes A Fast Dash and Heza Louisiana Dash. Dashing With Courage was scratched.

Open Me A Corona Gets Up in $100,000 Louisiana Classic

Jockey Saul Ramirez, Jr. rode multiple graded stakes winner Open A Corona to his 10th career win Saturday night by defeating Heza Fast Rogue by a neck in the $100,000 Louisiana Classic Stakes at Delta Downs. Fast Talkin Henry was another neck behind in the show spot.

Racing for owners Tommy Hays and Charles Forbes, Jr., Open Me A Corona completed the 440 yards in a quick :21.383 clocking to earn a 99 speed index. The $60,000 winner's purse brought the Coronas Leaving You 4-year-olds bank to $666,298.

Among his numerous stakes wins are the LQHBA Breeders' Futurity(RG1), Vals Fortune Stakes(RG2), Mr Jess Perry Stakes-twice, Gentilly Dash Stakes, and John Alleman Memorial. Natalie Montgomery, DVM bred Open Me A Corona from the Mr Eye Opener mare In The Open.

Kevin Broussard saddled Heza Fast Rogue for owners Brock Broussard and Jacque Bourque. Donald Watson rode the Heza Fast Dash colt out of Miss Jess Rogue, by Mr Jess Perry. He picked up $20,000 to bring his earnings to over $281,000. Triple M Farms, LLC is the breeder. Fast Talkin Henry, a 5-year-odl Heza Fast Dash gelding, races for owner Harlow Stables, LLC. Michael Taylor trains with John Hamilton riding. Russell Mowad bred the multiple graded stakes winner from the Streakin La Jolla mare Streakin Cindy. Has earned more than $420,000.

Dashin Gage, Sir Prize, Eye Get The Blues, Jessjinging, Jls Dash And Zoomn, Heza Bell Perry and Jls Mr Bigtime completed the field.

First Prize Perry Geldings Run 1-2 in Live Oak Stakes

A pair of 4-year-old First Prize Perry geldings finished 1-2 in the $50,000 Live Oak Stakes. Jls Book Of Psalms took an earlier lead under jockey Patrick Watson then held on to defeat Class Of 59 by one-length. Keepn It Kool finished three-quarter back in third.

Roy Roberts saddled Jls Book Of Pslams for owner/breeder JLS Speed Horse Ranch, LLC. The sorrel gelding from the Osceola Warrior mare Psalmist has won four races and used the $30,000 winner's purse to boost his career total past $103,000. Jls Books Of Psalms completed the 870 yards in :46.900 seconds.

Joan Rood's Class Of 59 finished second for trainer Randy Hebert. Also a First Prize Perry 4-year-old, Class Of 59 earned $10,000 for second. Mary Richardson and Mary La Blanc bred the gelding from the Osceola Warrior mare Runish. Garrett Medina had the riding call.

Danny Joe Eldridge saddled Keepn It Kool for owner David Lee Vance. Donnel Blake rode the Natalie Montgomery DVM bred son of First To Shine out of Kool K.J. (TB), by Bag (TB).

Heza Fast Corridor, Downtown Forrest, First Corona Prize, McM Zuper Man and Tf Corona N Passion completed the field.

Zoomin For Bugs Gets Up In Flying Breed Stakes

Zoomin For Bugs got up at the wire under jockey Armando Ramirez to defeat Jess Good Lookin by a neck in the $50,000 Flying Breed Stakes at Delta Downs Saturday night. Scoopies Leaving You was another neck off the leaders for third.

Randy Hebert saddled the son of Zoomin for Bux to his fifth win in 12 starts for owner Joan Rood. Bred by Dennis Miller, from the Toast To Dash mare Toast To Bugs, the brown gelding pushed his earnings total to $131,480 after pocketing the $30,000 Flying Breed winner's purse.

Zoomin For Bugs completed the 250 yard course in :12.967 seconds to earn a 96 speed index.

Michael Taylor saddled Jess Good Lookin to his second place effort for owner Lori Johnson. Bred by Live Oak Farms, the Heza Fast Dash 4-year-old was ridden by John Hamilton. Out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Mornin Jess, he earned $10,000 for the effort.

Scoopies Leaving You races for owner Joel Galindo and trainer Kevin Broussard. Donald Watson had the riding call aboard the Coronas Leaving Your 4-year-old. Gerald Libersat bred Scoopies Leaving You from the Toast To Dash mare Ms Scoopies Toast.

Rosouti, Tm Dees Prize, Game, Hesablackmagic, Kerrys Special Crown, Buzzinga and Voncitas Game completed the field.

Camerons Game Steps Up in Flashy Hemp Stakes Claimed in her last start for $7,500, Camerons Game posted half-length wining effort over multiple stakes winner Bipty Dash in the $50,000 Flashy Hemp Stakes at Delta Downs Saturday night. Tf Eyes R Struttin finished a neck back in the show position.

Ridden by jockey John Hamilton, the Kenneth Weeks trainee completed the 350 yards in :17.405 seconds to earn a 94 speed index. It was the filly's biggest payday to date and the $30,000 winner's purse moved her earnings mark to $78,730.

It was the first start for the Game Patriot filly for her new owners Lester Colomb, Jr. and John Price. Chris Dunn bred the sorrel filly from the Embrjo Fg mare Shes Lils Fg.

Bipty Dash, a multiple graded stakes winner of $266,646, races for owners Ivan Alford and Marty Long and is trained by Michael Taylor. Alfonso Lujan rode the daughter of Heza Fast Dash out of the thoroughbred –mare Bipty Jazz, by Kentucky Jazz.

Tf Eyes R Struttin races for owner Louis Johnson, Jr. and trainer Lanny Keith. Raul Ramirez, Jr. rode Struttin To Beduino 4-year-old out of Eyes R Special, by Mr Eye Opener. Bred by Steve Tate, the filly earned $5,500 for her effort.

Scooter Prize, Miss Fast Crystal, Shesa Dashingromance, The Game Cartel, Sheza Gamer and Rbd Fastesdasndeb completed the field.

First Prize Copy Rolls to Sixth Straight in Louisiana Starter

Trainer Martin Trejo saddled First Prize Copy to his sixth consecutive win for owner Ana Alvidez in Saturday's $40,000 Louisiana Starter Stakes at Delta Downs. The 5-year-old son of First Prize Perry held off Corona Fun by a nose. Jw Divino Comento finished half-a-length back in third.

A winner of 10 of his last 12 starts, First Prize Copy has not lost a race since October of 2014. The graded stakes winner completed the 350 yards in :17.511 seconds, a 91 speed index. The $24,000 winner's purse boosted his career mark to $172,623. Ridden by David Alvarez, First Prize Copy has won 11 of 23 career starts. Teddy Mendoza and Patrick Wertz bred the brown gelding form the First To Shine mare Shiney Copy.

Corona Fun, a 3-year-oldl Mighty Corona gelding out of Streakin Fun by Streakin La Jolla, finished second for owner Jose Barron. Manuel Macias trains with Antonio Alberto getting the riding call. Bred by Ron Habetz, Corona Fun earned $8,000.

Orlando Orozco saddled Jw Divino Comento for owner Ax'lMetal Roofing. Alfonso Lujan was up to earn $4,400.

Smart Comment, Tf Tee Boy, Ladies Fast Cash, Cash For Jet Black and Chicks Patriot completed the field.
