Uuzzii Returns in Louisiana Breeders' Laddie Futurity Trials


Mardi Gras Futurity(RG2)runner-up Uuzzii will make his next start in Friday's 330-yard Louisiana Breeders' Laddie Futurity (RG2) for state-bred 2-year-old colts and geldings at Delta Downs.

VINTON, LA--APRIL 30, 2024--Uuzzii, a graded stakes placed son of Freighttrain B owned by 2 Kings Racing LLC, will make his next start in Friday's 330-yard Louisiana Breeders' Laddie Futurity (RG2) for state-bred 2-year-old colts and geldings at Delta Downs.

Uuzzii has earned $82,195 from two races at Louisiana Downs, and he is coming off of a second-place finish, a half of a length behind winner Hes Bold As Corona, in the March 30, $459,000 Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) for state-bred juveniles.

Uuzzii has drawn post 7 and will be ridden by Ubaldo Luna in the first of 12 trials.

Mardi Gras finalists Pilot Perry and Corona Two Socks are also entered in Friday's trials. Pilot Perry races for Guerras Racing Stables from the barn of trainer Gilberto Gonzalez. A $14,000 purchase at last year's LQHBA Yearling Sale, the Mr Piloto gelding has banked $24,339 from two starts, and he ran sixth in the Mardi Gras Futurity.

Pilot Perry drew post 9 and will be ridden by Arturo Alvarez in the 12th heat.

Corona Two Socks ran 10th in the Mardi Gras Futurity after scoring a nose victory in his trial. Preston Jourdan trains the Coronas Leaving You gelding and $15,000 yearling buy for owner Mark Petry.

Corona Two Socks drew post 7 and will be ridden by Ubaldo Luna in the 10th trial.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the May 25, $75,000-added Laddie Futurity final.
